Dermorphin
Animal studies onlyAlmost all the research is in animals. We do not know if the same thing happens in people.
A strong pain-blocking peptide first found in frog skin. Animal research only.
The basics
- What is it?
- Dermorphin is a natural opioid peptide from South American tree frogs. It is far more potent than morphine in animals and is banned in horse racing. There is no approved human use.
Can a doctor prescribe this?

Doses used in research
Taken word for word from the studies and trials listed on this page. This is not a recommendation and not a dose for anyone to take.
In animal studies
These are doses given to animals, usually per kilogram of body weight. They do not convert directly to a human dose.
